Anemia

As oxygen is carried to the cells by the blood hemoglobin, when that level of hemoglobin falls to a level that prevents cells from obtaining sufficient sources of oxygen, the resultant condition is referred to as anemia. Since anemia is quite frequently associated with iron deficiency, it is important to be aware that other situations such as loss of blood, hemolytic diseases, defective nucleo-protein synthesis, bone marrow inhibition and loss of bone marrow an all contribute to a similar condition. Treatment must be specific to the cause.
