Anxiety and Stress

Anxiety is a feeling of apprehension, worry, uneasiness, or dread, especially of the future. This feeling is generally accompanied by stress or even due to stress, so these two are addressed similarly in the remedy category.

Both Panax ginseng and Siberian ginseng (one a day between meals) have long been known in China as an effective remedy for stress. Ginseng seems to lower blood pressure when it is high and similarly will increase blood sugar when your sugar drops too low. St John's Wort (one capsule three times a day) is simply an antidepressant. Magnesium (500 mg) along with calcium (200 mg) reduces blood pressure and since anxiety and stress cause an increase in blood pressure, taking these two vitamins in either food form or as a supplement helps to reduce stress. Vitamin B complex (in 50 mg doses) is mother nature's natural antidote for both stress and depression. Ginkgo biloba improves circulation and acts as a natural mood elevator.
