 Athena Starwoman was born in Melbourne, Australia, on July 17, 1945.  Although she was born under the astrological sign of Cancer, few knew her real name or background.  It is recognized, however, that she came from a long family lineage of mystics and studied with a number of great spiritual teachers as well as a Native-American shaman.  Athena built an empire as a popular writer and media personality.  She offered celestial advice in many genres, from, Vogue, Star, Elegance, Trump Style, Woman’s Day, Woman’s Weekly and other Magazines to numerous newspapers all over the world.  She also published several books including “Star Struck,” “How to Be Lucky Star Signs,” “Zodiac - Athena’s Sunsigns,” “Soul Mates and the Zodiac,” and “Think Yourself Thin.” She also co-authored with friend and fellow astrologer Deborah Gray, “How to Turn Your Ex-Boyfriend into a Toad” and “Glamazon: How to be Fabulous, Famous and Flawless.”

 

A long-time resident of New York City, after September 11, 2001, her and her husband sold their apartment in the Trump Tower and Athena divided her time between Australia’s Gold Coast and an apartment on-board the private resort cruise liner The World, where she was able to view the world from her home.

 In all the beautiful notes and letters sent to the family on her passing, this is one that best describes her spiritual light and love for life:

         “I met Athena almost exactly 1 year before she passed away. I was shooting a photo of her for Vogue Magazine.  Athena quickly established that my favorite song at the time was ‘Hotel California’.  She grabbed me by the hand, cranked up the system, took her shoes off, and danced to this song around her apartment like a teenager.  I was half her age but I will never feel as young as she was, or will ever be.  I’m glad I danced with her.  Thank you Athena, you gracious soul!”

Athena Starwoman, who succumbed to breast cancer on December 16, 2004, will be remembered as one of the world’s foremost astrologers and bestselling author of numerous books.  In the months leading up to her death, Athena was at work on several projects ranging from new books to DVDs that have been posthumously released; she kept herself busy, ensuring that her vision would outlast her mortal body.

Her affairs are now managed by her widower, Dr. John F. Demartini, who is a world-renown inspirational speaker, philosopher, retired chiropractor and best- selling author of dozens of inspiring books, including “Sacred Journey – From Soul Seed to Soul Mate” and “From Stress to Success in Just Thirty-One Days”, which he co-authored with his late wife.

I NEVER ACTUALLY MET ATHENA, BUT I FELT THAT I KNEW HER.  I WAS THE WIFE OF A CHIROPRACTOR AND I LISTENED TO MANY SEMINARS HELD BY DR. JOHN F. DEMARTINI.  I CAN REMEMBER WELL WHEN JOHN FIRST MET ATHENA AND HOW ENTHRALLED HE WAS WITH HER.  I REMEMBER WHEN HE SPOKE OF HER IN HIS SEMINARS AND HOW I WANTED TO KNOW MORE OF THIS BEAUTIFUL CREATURE WITH THE BEAUTIFUL NAME.  THEREAFTER I FOLLOWED HER WITH MUCH INTEREST AND FELT AS IF I WAS AMONG HER CIRCLE OF FRIENDS!  JOHN AND ATHENA WERE TRULY AMAZING TOGETHER!  I LOST MY BEAUTIFUL HUSBAND IN 1995 AND JOHN SPENT A WHOLE DAY WITH ME IN JACKSON, MS HELPING ME TO SEE THE PURPOSE IN THIS.  I CAN'T TELL HOW MUCH MY LIFE WAS ENRICHED AND BLESSED WITH THE LESSONS I LEARNED FROM THIS SPECIAL MAN.  SO THEREFORE, WITH THE LESSONS HE TAUGHT ME, I KNOW JUST HOW HE WAS ABLE TO HANDLE THE LOSS OF HIS BELOVED ATHENA.  AND ACTUALLY, HE WOULD TELL YOU THAT THERE IS NO LOSS AT ALL, ONLY A CHANGE IN FORM! WOW!  THANK YOU SO MUCH JOHN FOR WHAT YOU HAVE MEANT TO MY LIFE, I CONTINUE TO FOLLOW YOUR PATH AND HOPE THAT I CAN LEARN AND GROW MORE.  I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THIS VERY NIGHT ON LARRY KING LIVE.  GOD BLESS YOU AND I THANK THE DAY THAT YOU CAME INTO MY LIFE.

I can’t believe beautiful, vibrant and generous spirited Athena has been gone for almost four years. We met over 10 years ago when I was her producer for Good Morning Australia and she became a regular guest. We got on like a house on fire, and I remember how she just glowed when she told me how she’d met John Demartini. And when they married and traveled the world, it was like a fairy tale come true. When she brought John on the set you could see they were a magic couple. I know Athena is still around and I just want let John to know I often think about her and miss her. And I send my love and thoughts to you John, your family and friends and I will be thinking of Athena fondly on December 16h , four years on. Jen x

My name is Elaina Massie and sadly I never came across Athena while she lived on earth. I have listened to John speak on a number of occasions and while he presented at an Australian event last Friday I knew that it was time for me to participate in his Breakthrough Experience. I hadn’t seen the point before because I have always experienced a love download during his presentations.

I was on my regular walk today and unexpectedly felt Athena come to me VERY strongly and loving tears poured down my face. I knew she had come to support me on my life’s path and felt a deep sense of gratitude.

I then decided to look her up on the web and found myself crying the deepest loving tears as I read the tributes made to her. I knew she was with me as I read the messages and felt the need to let people know that she continues to do her great work from beyond the veil too.

Message of remembering.

I remember my meeting with Athena Starwoman vividly as though it happened yesterday yet it was quite a number of years ago, so long I cannot even remember. It was not actually even a real meeting as in saying hello and how are you and perhaps shaking hands or a greeting kiss. There was nothing like that. The remarkable thing was that it was really not a meeting at all. And yet we had an instant connection and I sensed in invitation to come and talk to her. It was at a psychic expo in Melbourne, Australia, a few years before she met and married as far as I can recall. I saw her across a crowd of people as in the song Some Enchanted Evening (I can see a stranger across a crowded room). I was feeling great sadness at the time and did not feel that I wanted to burden her with it – so I turned away even though I really did want to talk to her. I am an astrologer myself now having studied it for the past twelve years, and just lately I am going through tough times again and not able to find the reason for it and somehow I am compelled to connect with Athena Starwoman again and that is what led me to this site. So here’s to a remarkable woman who created an indelible impression. Peace on earth begins with me – Hans Bruitzman, Melbourne, Australia.
