VAL FURGESS
(1935-1999)

"On July 16, 1999, Valada M. Furgess, died at 12:40 AM in St. Vincent's Hospital, Bridgeport, Connecticut after a brief illness.

"Val was born October 8, 1937, at 10:03 AM in Bridgeport. She had been active in astrology for over 25 years and was a longtime member of NCGR's Fairfield (CT) Chapter. Val was chapter secretary since its inception and was also active for many years in the Danbury and New Milford (Berkshire) Chapters.

"Val touched many lives through astrology, and she will be sorely missed. Val was predeceased by her son, Michael, and is survived by a son, David, of Bridgeport, a daughter, Lisa, of New York City, her mother, Mary George, of Fairfield, Connecticut, and a sister, Mary Poor, of San Rafael, California."

"I remember Val too, from when I sat with the board of directors (several years ago) for the NCGR chapter meetings held in Southport. I have since relocated from CT, but I recall Val's pleasant personality from the meetings. I thought that she was a very good astrologer."
