TRIBUTES TO NEIL MICHELSEN
Tributes Published in Mercury Hour, October, 1990:

"To say that Neil was a giant in our field is of course
putting it mildly. Many of us, before we got
computers of our own, depended on Neil and his
expertise to grind out charts for us. I still,
as do many of us, use the services he created when
I am not sure of a chart or want to double check
something. The Atlases he published along with the
Ephemerides are the workbooks most of us have used
through the years. Many of the books his company
published are staples in our field.
"Neil served as Chairman of the Board of Directors
of NCGR for many years and helped it to grow into the
fine organization it is today. I first met Neil over
20 years ago when we both served on the Board of
Directors for ISAR. Through the years I have
continued to admire and respect him as a wonderful
human being, have always considered him "friend".
"I always teased him about his "Virgo ways" and
he always said "Edie, you know I am a Taurus and have no Virgo in my chart. Why do you keep insisting on the Virgo thing?" We both discovered when I got involved in Heliocntric astrology that he did indeed have Virgo in his
chart--Mars in Virgo to be exact. After that when I
mentioned his "Virgo ways" he would Just smile--and we
both knew why. Dear Friend, we shall miss you.
John McCormick would have said that Neil has gone to
join the others in that great conference in the sky."

"Neil Michelsen lived a full, rich and successful life.
True to his Taurus Sun he was in love with love and
equally as true to his Gemini Ascendant he played hard
at work and worked hard at play. Neil brought us accurate
astrological computer programs, furthered the Gauquelin's
research and lent a helping hand wherever needed. Though
his work will live on, the community at large and
I personally shall miss him--terribly."
