(1921-1991)

Highly-regarded American astrologer, Eugene Moore established astrology schools and taught hundreds of astrology students over the years along the east coast. A member of the American Federation of Astrologers, he was a perennial speaker at their conventions.

AdZe MiXXe wrote in Mercury Hour, 1991:

"This past Valentine's Day, EUGENE MOORE passed beyond this earthly plane of existence. These few words are offered in eulogy. Eugene Moore was a nice person, constantly offering himself to others. He was a good astrology teacher who will go down in history a s a great astrology teacher through his sheer tenacity and endurance. He offered original insights into the nature of the 'unaspected' planets.

"Eugene Moore was a true incarnation of Chiron. Now he is in the ethereal embrace of the goddess and the clear light of the all Father. Wish him a bon voyage as he cruises through the cosmic recycling center in the sky."

BIRTH AND DEATH DATA: AstrodataBank supplies this information, rated A, given by him to Lois Rodden. He was born on August 16, 1921, at 1:11 AM, in Swedesboro, NJ, 75W19; 39N45. He died of a heart attack at the age of 69 on February 14, 1991, in Gibbstown, NJ at 2:00 AM.

With a kingly chart altogether, he had a stellium in Leo including the Sun, Mercury, Mars, and Neptune and a highly-cable, organizing Capricorn Moon. His Uranus in Pisces was just two degrees off the Midheaven in the ninth, in the most powerful of the Gauquelin sectors. Venus and Pluto in Cancer were trine Uranus and the Midheaven, while conjunct his Cancer Ascendant.

Lori Blethen wrote for this memorial:

I have nothing except warm remembrances of Eugene Moore who opened his heart and lead me to information of the ages. He personally gave me countless books on Theosophy and astrology in fulfillment of what he explained to me was his 'duty'. I was seeking answers and he steered me to places with information to take me beyond myself.

I came upon his memorial within your site when seeking him out for his help and insight as an astrologer. I had hoped to see his listing with a way of contacting him, but now his is not of this earth. I send my eternal thanks to Eugene for his kindness and his friendship to me when I needed it most.

His vast library in his home and his stores of knowledge were always open to the student who was truly seeking. I learned his method of calculating charts in the early 70s. It was still in those difficult years before the computer, and though I had my struggles with math, his charts enabled me to construct hundreds of charts as I learned the language and cosmology of astrology. Studying my friends and associates I learned a lot of psychology at the same time. I enjoyed the meetings of astrologers he held where they discussed the news events or interesting client situations (anonymously of course). I remember him looking at Jimmy Hoffa's chart when Hoffa disappeared and his saying, "I don't think they will ever find him." As with many things, he has been right. He should have written books.

Although I never had the opportunity to meet Eugene Moore face to face, he was (and is ) an inspiration. I came across the dedication on your pages ten years after his passing. As an astrologer, I don't believe in coincidences. I came across the Moore Method of astrology in the mid 1970s. My instructors in the Moore School of Astrology were his graduates. Every time they passed out his materials, I glimpsed another piece of the intricate puzzle that was Eugene Moore. Every quote, every newsletter, every lesson was a little piece of him. He strove for brilliance and excellence in his work, and that was what he expected from all of us. The study of astrology before computers was a different experience. Mr. Moore honed our skills through mathematics and the experience of actually learning lesson by lesson. We eagerly absorbed every fact that came our way. as astrology books were not easy to come by, and Mr. Moore's glasses provided everything we needed to know. Studying the Moore methods required patience and dedication; two attributes that every aspiring astrologer needs to have. Thank you Eugene Moore for being a guiding light in my life...

From one Leo stellium to another.
