TRIBUTES TO JOAN NEGUS:![]() The following tributes were published in the Fall, 1997, issue of the NCGR Journal, an issue dedicated to her. FROM NICK CAMPION: Those of us in the UK who knew Joan knew her as a sincere friend of astrology - and of astrologers. When I came to the USA as a stranger, she was warm, welcoming, and friendly; and at all our subsequent conference meetings she was pleased to see me, and I to see her.
She was one of those great, unsung heroes of astrology whose fame is limited because they concentrate on hard work for the astrological community, rather than the fame which comes from international publishing. But whatever happens in one country affects developments in world astrology, so Joan's legacy will spread slowly around the globe. Joan was a delightful person, and what struck me most about her was her humility. She will be sorely missed and we here in British astrology extend our sympathy to her friends and our condolences to Ken and her family. Nick Campion FROM RUSSIA, WITH LOVE:
FROM STUDENTS AND FRIENDS: "A great light has gone out in our community." "Joan was just so Leo warm and friendly, she encouraged dumb questions and praised you for anything you could add. A fine teacher who had a magnetism that encouraged you to learn more and learn it well." ![]() A Recent Tribute to Joan: My life was greatly enriched by knowing Joan Negus. I met her at Windsor, New York at The Spiritual Center where she co-led a Solar Return Retreat Weekend with Sister Paula Matthew. From that "divine appointment" I determined that every year there after I would honor my birthday by receiving a solar return reading from Joan as well as attending the solar retreat weekends at Windsor. I am so grateful for all the wisdom imparted to me by Joan Negus. She taught me about astrology and about myself. I treasure the personal readings I received from Joan. I miss the fun times we shared in the community energy of the solar return weekends held each summer. I miss Joan. I hope this message of love finds its way to Joan and she feels my tribute like a pair of Angels' wings giving her a great big hug of THANKS and GRATITUDE. You GLOW Girl! Angelic Blessings!
