JULIANN C. RYAN
1925-1998
Allen Blasco, writing in the NCGR Memberletter, Spring,
1998:
"Cancerian
Juliann C. Ryan was a past president and founding member
of the Aquarian Organization of Astrologers. A professional
member of the American Federation of Astrologers, she served
on the faculty of the 1982 AFA Convention in Chicago, She
was also a certified Astro*Carto*Grapher and author of several
astrological publications. Juliann was a long-time member of
the NCGR and gave the keynote lecture at that organization's
1995 conference in her home town, Kansas City, MO.
"For many of us fortunate enough to know her, Juliann
Ryan could be called the "mother of all astrologers". Over
the years, she has been the single greatest source of
astrological encouragement and inspiration I've ever had the
pleasure to share an ephemeris with. No matter how obscure
the author or subject matter might be, Juliann will go to her
study and come back with a cassette tape of a conference she
attended, maybe 20 years ago, and probably a first edition
of the author's work to boot.
"Born and reared in Lansing, MI (where she attend grade school with Malcolm X), Juliann's
interests in history, politics, and current events were nurtured by nightly conversations at
the family dinner table. That same tradition was carried on
in weekly meetings at her home, where friends and
acquaintances of all religious, political, and astrological
persuasions met and exchanged views.
"Juliann was my friend,
teacher, and "astrological mother." For those of us who knew
and respected her, professionally and personally, she will be
sorely missed."
