Martha Taub was born  in Charleston, WV on January 1, 1932 at 6:34 PM. to Floyd K. Bond and Alice McKay Bond, both originally from Washington State.

She spent two years in India with her family where she began a study of Eastern religions and philosophers, especially G. I. Gurdjieff.  She was a member of Gurdjieff Work groups in Washington, DC and Seattle, in which she was esteemed as an authority on his teachings.

Concurrently she developed an interest in astrology and was a student and later on a colleague of the leading advocate of Uranian methods, Barbara Watters.   Martha expanded those methods and using them, published a Uranian analysis of JFK’s assassination. Martha’s interest in astrology included expertise in political astrology, horary, and astro-economics.

Martha was an original founder and board member of Kepler College of Astrological Arts and Sciences in Seattle, through which she held great vision for the future of astrology. Martha’s library of over 300 books was donated to Kepler College by her husband.

She was also very interested in alternative healing techniques. However, the overriding interest guiding her activities was the well-being and development of her family.  She persevered in finding the best educational opportunities for her children, and as they began families of their own, the support of their careers.   Martha provided invaluable support to her husband and his career and personal development.

She passed away on July 31, 2003 on Mercer Island, Washington after a stroke.

Her surviving family includes her husband, Alvin of Bellevue, daughter Karen of West Seattle, and two sons: Bart of Champaign, Il, and Benjamin of Baltimore, MD as well as six grandchildren and many friends and colleagues.

This memorial was written by Roxana Muise, who adds:

Since Martha’s definitive book, “Uranian Astrology – Tools and Techniques” is out of print, and has been in demand, her family has entrusted its reformatting and republication to me. I am currently looking for some assistance in this project.
