Gallbladder Disease
The gallbladder is a pear-shapped sac which stores bile. Bile aids in the
digestion of fat and eventually is discharged into the small intestine.
Riskfactors for gallbladder disease are a high-fat, high-cholesterol diet,
alcoholic liver disease, chronic inflammations
of the liver or gallbladder, and food allergies. Keeping a healthy liver
is a good general rule of thumb to follow to prevent the onset of gallbladder disease.
The high risk factors are linked to the onset of cancer.
Silymarin or milk thistle can not only protect the
liver, but can help it to grow new cells.
