Obesity
Water, Water, Water, Water and no substitutes. If you drink a cup of coffee in the morning, don't count it as one of the eight to ten glasses of water that you need to drink each day to stay healthy. Eight to ten glasses will flush the system. No kidding here! Drink lots of water. Concentrate on health - throw out the scale - forget about weight, just concentrate on health! Consume fewer calories - Don't cut back on food, cut back on calories. Fill up on fruits and vegetables. Bear in mind that the so-called "fat free" foods are still loaded with calories.
Also, eat good fat. By that, I mean avoid processed foods. If you have a choice between an ice cream bar loaded with processed ice cream, and the real thing, then choose the real thing and enjoy yourself. The real thing has a better form of fat that doesn't load you up with the bad cholesterol that leads to heart disease. The best part is that it tastes better too!Eat when you are hungry. The body will tell you if you need food. Just listen. This is redundant but - cut back naturally. Eat when you are hungry. When you reach for something to eat, ask yourself, am I hungry? Set a scale if you are always hungry - when you reach the high point, then eat. Exercise - well, at least get up and do something to get the heart moving. Walk, play tennis, anything . . . but get up and get moving. Put spice in your food. Activate the taste buds which aid digestion. Put fiber in your diet - like salad, whole grain bread, oatmeal . . .
