Vitamin A - Retinoic acid

General Information:

  • Responsible for maintaining epithelial membranes, builds up resistance to infection, helps form rhodopsin - a pigment for vision
  • Present in many foods, such as dairy, fish liver (omega fatty acid) oil, liver etc.
  • Too much carotene will occasionally cause some discoloration of the skin - it is not permanent.
