ZODIAK is a small town out in the country, surrounded by woods on the north side and fields to the south with a lovely pond just inside the town limits . The town has twelve homes all set in a circle around the Town Commons, an area of well kept grass and gardens of fragrant flowers. Twelve paths lead from the center of town out to the homes of the inhabitants. Zodiak is occupied by an assortment of adorable animals, all of whom have different talents and personalities.
Leo the Lion, who is quite proud of his long, curly mane,and shiny gold coat, lives in the town, (the path to his home leads to a rocky ledge with a cave where he keeps his den, which boasts a huge stone fireplace), as does Taurus the Bull,
" who often appears to guarding HIS pastures, and HIS well stocked barn which lie at the end of another of the paths. But he can be quite hospitable when he decides to extend invitations to his friends.
Aries the Ram has a small pasture and shelter with a tool shed at the end of a rocky trail leading from the Town Center and he usually shows up with skinned knees from falling as he runs too fast up and down his steep trail. He seldom listens to anyone else and he starts lots of projects but seldom finishes them. His tool shed is filled with leftovers from his tinkering.
The twins, Gem and Ni, are chattering birds
" who fly here and there carrying gossip. They live in a maple tree down path number three. Sometimes they move to the willow tree or one of the other trees in their small wooded area. They seldom stay in one home very long as they like lots of variety in their surroundings.
The goldfish who speaks for all her brothers and sisters in the pond, Bernadette Pisces, is always willing to lend a sympathetic ear to those in trouble, but some of the other animals play tricks on her since she is so gullible.
She is always asking for help, poor thing, because she is trapped in her pond which lies down the twelth path and is hidden in a grove of shady trees.
AquariCat is often seen lugging buckets of fresh water to the fish pond. He is a very independent natured cat yet he often brings mice for others to eat.
He has a small home at the end of the path next to Bernadette’s pond, yet is often found napping in Taurus’s barn.
CrabbyRabbit is very emotional (snapping at everyone when she is upset), but always cooking something good to eat for her many children and continually talking about the past.
Her home burrow at the farthest point south in the town is a big one full of momentos, pictures, and small treasures she has collected over the years.
Cappy, the goat, tries to keep everyone organized. He is always trying to get elected for some office or another, and is the Town Manager. 
His home on the north end of the town is close to the center and quite impressive and well kept. Many of the animals meet at his home since he has the town clock on his property and his house is easy to reach.
VirgOwl watches attentively for small details, ("OOPS, there is a mouse!" he often says as he swoops down on something he sees from the corner of his eye) and he spends much time keeping his feathers neat and 
clean. He often silently worries about molting as he sits all by himself in his pine tree home overlooking the town grainery and storehouses.
LibraDog , the pleasant peacemaker, lives next door, and annoys VirgOwl’s neat nature by leaving scattered bones and toys laying about in her yard. She charmingly wags her tail and cleans them up to please him when he gets too cross with her, but always wants to be with the rest of the group so she is seldom at home to clean.
ScorpSnake is sarcastic and caustic the infrequent times he speaks, often hides his real feelings, and is known to silently slither off when offended. ScorpSnake comes up with some nuggets of wisdom, though., and is known for his healing skills. He lives very quietly in a burrow next to the Town Well and watering trough (since he is a water snake after all) and reads a lot.
Saji, (short for Sagittarius), is a reddish colored, tall, gangly horse with a long face and great sense of humor who is always off on adventures, just munching on whatever is handy when he gets hungry. This philosophical horse likes to lecture others about the places he has seen and his beliefs. His home
