Imagine.
........you are stranded on a tropical island called the Internet with your computer.

It appears to be a paradise of information and glorious sites but dangerous creatures, (especially gruesome worms and spiders), lurk behind the Palm Pilot trees and there are hidden booby traps in the web jungle. You have been warned that threatening viruses abound and some can disable your computer permanently.

Life on the mainland didn't prepare you for some of the problems encountered. There is no corner store here for supplies so you have to be resourceful and live off the land. Many basic necessities are here on the Internet for the taking if you know where to look.

The natives know how to survive but speak strange languages such as perl, php, java, C++, html and asp that perplex you, and they perform mysterious rituals such as uploading, downloading and reformatting. These natives worship Gods with names such as Linux and DOS and ISP. Sometimes wars break out between the PC and Mac tribes. And while the weather is usually balmy, occasionally unexpected storms occur that disrupt communications. You could build a signal fire to send out a SOS but may attract predators such as hackers who will rob your computer of everything valuable.
