Vitamin K

General Information:

  • Responsible for maintaining the blood's clotting system. Without Vitamin K we would bleed to death.
  • Present in cabbage, cauliflower, soybeans, spinach and liver (many others).
  • Destroyed in the body by mineral oil laxatives, impaired absorption of fats\ within the digestive tract (GI tract) - also by antibiotics and by certain liver disorders.
  • Requirements are 60 - 80 micrograms per day.
